Sicily

This Region at times is the real Italy. Real in terms of feeling authentic rather than poisted for the great business of tourism that is evident in some areas of the country. We have been to Sicily a number of times and enjoy the culture, our experiences with the people and the sights.

You can fly to the major airports in Sicily, or you can drive and take a ferry. But you will need a car to fully explore the sights of this large island.

If you have an interest in Greek and Roman archeology, then a visit to the Valley of the Temples is a must. You will emjoy the sights and although the people visiting is of course increasing, there are not the crush of tourists found elsewhere.
